ECONOMIC, SOCIAL AND CULTURAL RIGHTS Like the first generation, they were also included in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in articles 22 through 27 and, in addition, incorporated in the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural rights. They ensure the different members of the citizenship, equality of conditions and treatment. They include the right to be employed, the rights to housing, education and health, as well as social security and unemployment benefits. Second generation human rights relate to equality and began to be recognised by governments after the First World War.
